次世代サイバーセキュリティのグローバルリーダー企業である英国ソフォス (日本法人：ソフォス株式会社　東京都港区 代表取締役 中西 智行）は本日、川口信用金庫（本店：埼玉県川口市、理事長：木村　幹雄）がインターネットを介したセキュリティ脅威が増大する中、 Sophos Firewall　XGシリーズを導入して、より強固なゲートウェイ・セキュリティ対策を施したことを発表しました。

背景と課題

川口信用金庫は、2015年に発生した日本年金機構で発生した情報漏洩事件を契機に、金融機関としてインターネットを介した脅威に対するセキュリティ対策を強化しなければならないという認識を強く持ちました。従来は、エンドポイントに焦点を置いた複数のベンダーのセキュリティ対策ソフトを利用していたが、インターネット経由で侵入してくるメールをゲートウェイでブロックするためのアプライアンスであるSophos SG 210 UTMを採用し、Eメール保護を含むセキュリティ全般の強化に活用しました。その後、2020年に同ファイアウォール製品をSophos XG310にアップグレードした後、2020年から始まるコロナ禍により、ウェブ会議の機会が増え、各支店と本部データセンターを結ぶVPN回線の輻輳によるパフォーマンス低下の問題が顕著となりました。

導入後の効果

その時期にパートナー企業からのアドバイスを受けて、 Sophos Firewall　XGシリーズを導入したことで、より強固なゲートウェイ・セキュリティ対策を施せたことに加えて、同ファイアウォールをUDPのリアルタイムの音声と映像パケットのみを大容量の回線の迂回に利用したことで、ウェブ会議で利用するVPN回線の輻輳問題を解決できたという副次的効果を得ることもできました。

また、製品の機能に加えて、ソフォスより24時間対応のテクニカル・サポートが提供されていたことで、万が一のインシデントにも即座に対応できる安心感を得ることができました。

今後の展望

川口信用金庫では現在、 Sophos Firewall　XGシリーズをベースに多要素認証と組み合わせて、クラウド経由でSophos Central による運用監視を行っています。今後の展望として、 Sophos Firewall　XGシリーズとソフォスのエンドポイントセキュリティ製品で実現できるSynchronized Securityを含め、より安全で利便性の高い運用方法をソフォスからアドバイスを受けながら導入を検討していきたいとしています。
