ネットワークおよびエンドポイントセキュリティのグローバルリーダー企業である英国ソフォス (日本法人：ソフォス株式会社　東京都港区 代表取締役 中西 智行）は本日、南日本酪農協同株式会社（本社：宮崎県都城市、代表取締役社長：有村 義昭）がセキュリティ対策の強化を目的にソフォスのEDR製品であるSophos Central Intercept X Advanced with EDR とSophos Central Intercept X Advanced for Server with EDRを導入したことを発表しました。

背景と課題

南日本酪農協同では、グループ会社含め 800名の職員が約470台のPCを利用しており、従来はセキュリティ対策にパターンマッチング式のエンドポイント製品を使用していました。しかし、従来使用していたエンドポイント製品では万が一感染した場合、感染の原因までが特定できず、解析のために限られた情報システム部の人材を割くことができませんでした。

そのため、同社では根本原因を解析できる機能「Sophos Threat Cases」を備えるソフォスのEDR製品に着目しました。この機能により、脅威ケースの解析に加えて、問題の発生しているコンピュータの隔離やネットワーク上で他の脅威例がないかを検索し、クリーンアップ、ブロック、および詳細な脅威解析情報を得られます。これらの優れた機能を検討・検証した結果、従来製品のリース更新のタイミングでSophos Central Intercept X Advanced with EDR とSophos Central Intercept X Advanced for Server with EDRへ移行することを決断しました。

導入後の効果

旧製品からソフォスEDR製品への移行は、ソフォスの技術サポートの下、速やかに行われ、現在は安定稼働しています。南日本酪農協同の情報システム部は、ソフォスEDR製品導入後は従来製品と比べて、新しいマルウェアに対応しているという安心感を得たと評価しています。また、同製品は社員によるUSBメモリの使用を管理できる機能を備えており、別途購入を検討していた他社製資産管理パッケージの高価なUSBメモリ管理オプションを購入する必要がなくなったので、コスト削減につながりました。

今後の展望

南日本酪農協同は、将来的にはSophos Firewall XGファイアウォールも導入して、すでに導入しているSophos Central Intercept X Advanced with EDR とSophos Central Intercept X Advanced for Server with EDRとの間にソフォスが提唱する“Synchronized Security”を構築し、ネットワークおよびエンドポイント間の情報を自動的に共有化し、インシデントに即座に自動的に対応できるようセキュリティ態勢を一層強化していきたい意向を持っています。
