Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) is an enterprise endpoint security solution that provides multi-layered protection including antivirus, advanced machine learning, exploit prevention, behavioral analysis, and firewall capabilities. It protects Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints against malware, ransomware, and advanced persistent threats. 

SEP generates detailed security event logs including malware detections, intrusion prevention alerts, firewall events, application and device control violations, and client health status. These events provide visibility into endpoint threats across the enterprise, enabling security teams to identify malware outbreaks, track threat remediation, and detect endpoints that may be compromised despite protection.
