Microsoft Azure Firewall is a managed, cloud-based network security service that protects Azure Virtual Network resources with built-in high availability and unrestricted cloud scalability. It provides stateful firewall-as-a-service with features including application and network-level filtering, threat intelligence-based filtering, and FQDN-based rules. 

Azure Firewall generates detailed diagnostic logs covering network rules, application rules, DNS proxy queries, and threat intelligence hits. These logs capture all traffic decisions including source, destination, port, protocol, action, and threat category, enabling security teams to monitor east-west and north-south traffic in Azure environments and detect malicious network activity.
