F5 Silverline is a cloud-based managed security service that provides DDoS protection, web application firewall (WAF), and application security without requiring on-premises hardware. It operates as a service delivered through F5's global cloud infrastructure, protecting applications from volumetric and application-layer attacks. 

Silverline generates security event logs covering DDoS attack mitigation, WAF rule matches, bot detections, and traffic analytics. These logs enable security teams to monitor attacks against their applications, understand threat patterns, and correlate cloud-based security events with on-premises security data.
