Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (formerly Firepower Threat Defense/FTD) is Cisco's next-generation firewall platform that unifies traditional firewall capabilities with advanced threat detection including intrusion prevention, malware analysis, URL filtering, and application visibility and control on a single appliance. 

The platform uses Cisco Talos threat intelligence and the Snort intrusion detection engine to identify and block threats. It generates detailed security event logs including connection events, intrusion alerts, file and malware events, and security intelligence indicators, providing comprehensive visibility for security operations and threat hunting.
