VMware Carbon Black App Control (formerly Cb Protection) is an application whitelisting and control solution that locks down servers and critical systems by only allowing trusted and approved software to execute. It provides change control, file integrity monitoring, and device control for servers and fixed-function endpoints. 

App Control generates detailed events covering application execution attempts (both allowed and blocked), file integrity changes, device access events, and policy modifications. These logs enable detection of unauthorised software execution, malware attempts, and system tampering on protected servers and endpoints.
