AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) is a managed web application firewall service that protects web applications and APIs from common exploits and bots. It allows creation of custom rules to filter web traffic based on conditions like IP addresses, HTTP headers, request body content, and URI strings, blocking attacks such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting. 

AWS WAF logs provide detailed information about every web request inspected by the firewall, including the rule that matched, the action taken, and full request metadata. These logs enable security teams to analyze attack patterns, tune firewall rules, investigate incidents, and identify emerging threats targeting their web applications.
