Milan Patel

Milan Patel is Sophos Global Head of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) Services. In this role, he leads the strategic direction, operational excellence, and global growth of Sophos’ MDR and services business. He is responsible for driving alignment across service delivery, commercial strategy, and go-to-market execution.

Milan brings more than two decades of leadership experience across cybersecurity, national security, and managed security services. Prior to joining Sophos, he served as Global Head of MDR and Chief Revenue Officer at BlueVoyant, where he built and scaled the company’s managed detection and response business from the ground up, while leading its global commercial organization.

Before BlueVoyant, Milan was Managing Director at K2 Intelligence’s Cyber Defense Practice, where he helped establish the practice and led its managed services and incident response teams, supporting complex global engagements including cyber risk assessments, board-level exercises, and insider threat investigations.

Earlier in his career, Milan spent more than a decade with the FBI. He served as a Supervisory Special Agent in the FBI Cyber Division, where he led multiple national level priorities spanning cyber policy, strategy, and technology. As a Special Agent, he also led landmark investigations into the Silk Road dark web marketplace, Anonymous, and Operation Ghost Click, one of the largest cyber takedowns in history.

Milan also co-led the Joint Requirements Team under the White House National Security Council’s Cyber Security Directorate, where he helped define national cyber security technology requirements and authored the first cyber incident severity framework, adopted across US government and intelligence agencies.

Milan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
