Joe Levy

Joe Levy is the CEO of Sophos, a global leader in cybersecurity defending over 600,000 organizations worldwide. A 30-year industry veteran, Joe blends hands-on technical expertise with strategic vision to redefine how organizations of all sizes defend against modern cyber threats. Since becoming CEO in 2024, he has grown Sophos into one of the largest dedicated MDR providers in the world.

A recognized subject matter expert on agentic AI and cyber risk, Joe is a member of the Aspen U.S. Cybersecurity Group and several advisory councils for leading investment and security organizations. He is a vocal advocate for ensuring every organization—regardless of size or resources—has a clear path to superior cybersecurity outcomes. Under his leadership, Sophos is delivering AI-powered, expert-driven defenses that make security accessible to all.

Prior to becoming CEO, Joe served as Sophos’ President and Chief Technology Officer, advancing the company’s endpoint, network, cloud, and security operations platforms through the unified Sophos Central architecture. Earlier in his career, he led security and network operations teams and held CTO roles at Solera Networks, Blue Coat Systems and SonicWALL, where he helped shape core innovations in next-generation firewalls, deep packet inspection, cryptography, and secure remote access.

Joe earned his BA from Queens College, City University of New York. He is a longtime contributor to industry certification and design consortiums and holds numerous patents across security, networking, database, analytics, virtualization, and AI. He remains active in the venture community, supporting emerging technologies and teams focused on advancing our collective cyber defense.
