Cybersecurity-as-a-Serviceを開発・提供するグローバルリーダー企業のソフォス（日本法人：ソフォス株式会社（東京都港区 代表取締役 中西 智行）は本日、ソフォスのアンチウイルスソフト「Sophos Anti-Virus Interface SDK」がこのたび、株式会社インターネットイニシアティブ（本社：東京都千代田区、代表取締役社長：勝　栄二郎、以下：IIJ））が法人顧客向けに提供している「IIJセキュアWebゲートウェイサービス」の新たなアンチウイルスエンジンに採用され、　2022年12月23日より同エンジンを使用したサービスを開始することを発表しました。

IIJは、すでに「IIJセキュアWebゲートウェイサービス」にカスペルスキー社のアンチウイルスエンジンを利用していましたが、サービス利用者の多様なニーズに応じてアンチウイルスエンジンを選択できるようにすることが必要であると考えるようになりました。そこで、同社は数社のベンダー製品の機能、性能、およびインテグレーションの容易さを比較検証し、総合的に最も優れていたSophos Anti-Virus Interface SDKを第2のアンチウイルスエンジンに導入することを決定しました。

「IIJセキュアWebゲートウェイサービス」のサービス利用者がSophos Anti-Virus Interfaceを選択することで、ウイルス、マルウェア、トロイの木馬、ワーム、エクスプロイトに加えて、侵入しようとする他の悪質なプログラムに対する包括的な保護機能の利用が可能となります。また難読化されたファイルの識別を行い、より精度の高い検知結果を得ることができます。さらにはファイルが実行される前にファイル固有の特徴（ｇenotype）を識別し、過去に確認されたマルウェアとの特徴の比較を行い、プロアクティブでかつより精度の高いゼロデイ攻撃への対応が可能となります。
