SophosInstall.exe command line switches

This article provides information on the command line switches to 'SophosInstall.exe'.  These may be required when performing a command line installation or when installing as part of a scripted installation.

Command Description
 -q  Run quietly i.e. without a user interface.

Indicates the action to be performed by the Sophos Cloud installer if the computer is running third-party security software. There are three options:

  • detect: The Sophos Cloud installer detects third-party security software and stops the installation.
  • ignore: The Sophos Cloud installer ignores the presence of third-party security software, and attempts to install the Sophos protection software.
  • remove: The Sophos Cloud installer will remove the third-party security software before installing the Sophos protection software (recommended).


setup.exe -q -tps remove

Important: the '-tps' argument and proceeding action should be at the end of the command line.
