Managed vs unmanaged
In the managed version the following sections of Sophos Mobile Security are not available / not configurable:
- Security Advisor
The Security Advisor of SMSec gives an overview of the configuration of the security relevant settings on a device.
This overview is also part of Sophos Mobile Control and therefore this section is not available in the managed version of SMSec.
- Loss & Theft:
The Lost & Theft function of SMSec is not available in the managed version as all features delivered here are also part of Sophos Mobile Control. To use one feature the user has either to contact their Sophos Mobile Control administrator or use the Sophos Mobile Control Self Service Portal in case it's configured.
- App protection:
The app protection feature is disabled if the device is managed by Sophos Mobile Control as the same feature is available in the Sophos Mobile Control client which the administrator can activate. The user is not able to add an app to the list of protected apps.
