When installing PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange you see the following error:
Setup was unable to unregister PureMessage from the SMTP service. Error details: COM error-code 0x80004005 : Unspecified error

This issue is caused by a corruption to the logged on user's profile.
What To Do
Log on to the server as a different account with the below privileges, based on your environment:
- If you are in a domain, log on with domain administrative privileges.
- If you are in a workgroup, log on with local administrative privileges.
Note: When installing on Exchange 2010, make sure the account is a member of the Exchange Organization Administrators group.
If there is no account which matches the above conditions then create a new account for this purpose.
