When logging off from a computer, the roaming profile of the user is not written back to the server and thus not updated correctly.

Certain handles in the registry cannot be closed correctly, thus preventing the profile from being written correctly on the server.

What To Do

In the SafeGuard Policy Editor or Management Center, check the "Authentication" policy for the setting "Lock screen after X minutes inactivity". This should be set to 0 (zero) if there's a similar group policy configured in the Active Directory. Those similar policies have shown to clash and cause the error mentioned above.

Though this was only seen on Windows 7 computers, Windows Vista might also be affected. Also prior versions of SafeGuard Device Encryption (Easy / Enterprise) might be affected. The issue is fixed in version 6.0 of SafeGuard Device Encryption.
