When users are prompted to enter credentials when surfing the web, those credentials may be cached for varying amounts of time, depending on the backend service used to authenticate them.

Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
Sophos UTM Software Appliance

Length of time for which HTTP proxy (UTM) authentication credentials are cached:

  • Active Directory - up to 15 minutes
  • eDirectory - up to 15 minutes.
  • RADIUS - up to 30 minutes
  • TACACTS - up to 30 minutes

If cahed credentials are causing an issue, they may be cleared manually.

Go to Definitions & Users | Authentication Servers | Global Settings | Flush authentication. cache.
