Sophos Update Manager popup error mentioning Base64Decode returned false.

This issue can occur when the Sophos database has been moved and/ or the private store for the updating credentials is not available

First seen in
Enterprise Console 4.0.0

What To Do

Attempt to click through the error and re-enter the update credentials into the Sophos Update Manager's (SUM) configuration via the console | 'Update Managers' view menu.  This should resolve the issue.

If the above does not work, remove 'Sophos' as a Source from the Update Manager configuration, hit OK on any warnings when saving the configuration. Then close the console and restart the Management service and SUM service. Upon re-opening the console, the SUM configuration wizard will appear and from here you can re-enter the update credentials.

WARNING: The process above may cause unwanted version upgrades. Be careful if you are on a strict on version control.

Finally, if you are still having problems please see article 111415.
