Sophos Appoints Oscar Chavez-Arrieta as Vice President, Latin America

BURLINGTON, Mass., April 4, 2016Sophos (LSE: SOPH), a global leader in network and endpoint security, today announced the appointment of Oscar Chavez-Arrieta as vice president of sales for Latin America. Chavez-Arrieta will lead strategic business growth and channel sales operations in the region. He is based in Miami, Fla.

Chavez-Arrieta brings more than 22 years of experience in developing sales in Latin America for Fortune 500 organizations. Previously, he served as Microsoft solutions director at Dell, Inc. and channel sales director at Symantec Corp. Throughout his career, Chavez-Arrieta has worked closely with partners, distributors, system integrators and service providers across the region, and is known as a team builder with an impressive track record of driving high growth businesses.

According to Chavez-Arrieta, Latin America makes a significant contribution to the global gross domestic product (GDP), and the region is registering rapid growth in cyber security. “A large number of organizations need to improve their network security against the increase in sophisticated advanced threats,” said Chavez-Arrieta. “New opportunities are opening up for partners that cannot be met with traditional security products. Sophos’ advanced threat protection technology and products are ideal for this surge in demand.” To better serve the partners and customers of the region, Sophos has plans to open new offices in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. The company is also planning to strengthen its presence in Colombia, Peru and Chile.
