W32/Rbot-AKE is a worm and IRC backdoor Trojan for the Windows platform.

W32/Rbot-AKE runs continuously in the background, providing a backdoor server which allows a remote intruder to gain access and control over the computer via IRC channels.

When first run W32/Rbot-AKE copies itself to <System>\defrag.exe and creates the file <System>\svkp.sys.

<system>\svkp.sys is a device driver used by the commercial packing/encryption program SVKProtect and is not malware. W32/Rbot-AKE uses SVKProtect.

The following registry entries are created to run defrag.exe on startup:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
