Windows Embedded platforms - support available

If you are running Windows Embedded platforms, we offer technical support on the following basis:

  • Successful completion of all tests described in the Sophos Endpoint Security and Control Windows Embedded test guide:
  • Commercially reasonable efforts in accordance with Sophos’ standard business practices.

  • To prevent managed computers showing in Enterprise Console as "Comparison failure" for the Anti-Virus policy, it is important to enable the Windows component "Management and Monitoring Tools" before installing Sophos Endpoint Security and Control.  
  • If Sophos Endpoint Security and Control is installed on the computer before enabling the Windows component "Management and Monitoring Tools", one of the following would need to take place:
    1. Uninstall and re-install of the Sophos Anti-Virus component.
    2. Sophos Endpoint Security and Control would need to perform a major version upgrade (e.g. 10.0 to 10.3.x).
    3. A downgrade of Sophos Endpoint Security and Control followed by an upgrade for the installer to re-assess if the SNMP component of the "Management and Monitoring Tools" is enabled. 
  • The Sophos Anti-Virus service will fail to start on installations of 9.7.x if the "Management and Monitoring Tools" component is not installed.
