Media Alert: Sophos Showcases Next-Generation Cybersecurity Innovation and Vision at RSA Conference 2018

Sophos Press Release

SAN FRANCISCO – April 17, 2018 Sophos (LSE: SOPH), a global leader in network and endpoint security, today announced that it will showcase presentations from Sophos threat experts and top executives, and findings from new network security research at RSA Conference 2018. Sophos is also demonstrating the latest version of its next-generation endpoint security solution Intercept X with deep learning technology. To allow everyone to experience threat categorization, Sophos has interactive and virtual reality games at its booth #3201 in the North Hall.

On April 18 at 1:45 p.m. PT in Moscone North 20, industry veteran Dan Schiappa, general manager and senior vice president of product innovation at Sophos will present “Charles Darwin, Cybersecurity Visionary? Surviving When Predator is Hacker,” a discussion on why and how security needs to evolve.

“When the predator is the hacker and defenses cannot adapt in real time, the IT ecosystem cannot survive. For too many years, the industry has looked at security by protecting single points in the ecosystem and now we must approach protection by adapting. An ecosystem that shares actionable intelligence and allows the ecosystem to adapt automatically in real time is the future of security.”

Visitors to the Sophos booth #3201 in North Hall can:

  • Learn the results of Sophos’ new research, “The Dirty Secrets of Network Firewalls,” which reveals the critical security and business challenges associated with IT managers being unable to categorize 45 percent of their organization’s network traffic
  • Play Sophos’ “AI Challenge: Are You Smarter Than a Machine” and the virtual reality game “Deep Dimension” to test how quickly they can spot an exploit, identify an attack, figure out what was hit by an attack and what to do next
  • Discover how Sophos Intercept X stops exploits, ransomware, and zero-day attacks by leveraging deep learning techniques
  • Get hands on experience of Sophos’ latest release of XG Firewall, with its next-generation network protection. As part of Sophos Synchronized Security, companies can better manage and defend their network thanks to integration between endpoint and network solutions
  • Gain valuable insights and actionable takeaways on cyber-attack trends being presented by Sophos experts

Media and show attendees are invited to attend Sophos’ second annual RSAC after-party hosted at SPiN San Francisco on April 18 at 6:30 p.m. PT. Meet with Sophos experts and U.S. Olympic table tennis star Lily Zhang while enjoying cocktails, ping pong contests and prizes, including the chance to win a Mavic Pro drone, and much more.
