Sophos security experts Chester Wisniewski and David Schwartzberg will present at this month’s SOURCE and ThotCon conferences, respectively.

What: One of the most successful drive-by attack toolkits available to criminals, Black Hole is dominating the criminal marketplace. Chet will explore how the exploit kit is sold, how attackers use it to ensnare victims, and the speed with which new vulnerabilities are being exploited. He will examine techniques for defending against Black Hole and other exploit kits, along with trends from the “underground” that may hint at what is coming next. He will also share information on the latest IT security threats.

What: David will demonstrate a Command and Control module with the intent of providing tech support for family members and friends. This mostly hands on demonstration will walk attendees through setting up a Command and Control, configuring the basic settings to get started and how to install this program on family and friends’ computers so you can provide tech support.
