BOSTON –December 7, 2010 – IT security and data protection firm Sophos today announced that Sandra Bergeron has been appointed to its board of directors as a non-executive member. A well-known computer security thought leader and former McAfee, Inc., senior executive, Bergeron's more than 20 years of security, operations, and board advisory expertise will help drive Sophos' growth trajectory.
As a current venture partner at Trident Capital and director of Qualys, Inc. and TraceSecurity, Inc., Bergeron is well-positioned to provide strategic insight from the security industry. In addition, she also served as a director on the boards of ArcSight, Tipping Point, Netegrity, Nuance Communications and TriCipher, up until their respective acquisitions. During her decade-long career at McAfee, Inc., Bergeron held numerous key executive positions, including head of research and development, head of corporate strategy, and president of PGP Security, a McAfee division.
