Sophos Names Jason Richards as Vice President of Information Technology

BOSTON (US) and OXFORD (UK) - February 3, 2010 - IT security and control firm Sophos today announced the appointment of Jason Richards as Vice President of Information Technology.

Richards will assume responsibility for ensuring the company's IT services and strategy are aligned with Sophos's growth expectations. Based in Sophos's Oxford, UK headquarters, he will report to Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technical Operations, Wendy Dean.

With nearly 20 years of experience setting IT strategy for a number global enterprises and mid-sized corporations, Richards most recently held the position of chief information officer (CIO) at Torex Retail Holdings Limited, a global provider of integrated technology solutions to the extended retail marketplace. Richards and the company's executive team worked together to define the company's overall strategy - from operational performance and financial investments to risk management assessment. Under Richards' leadership, the global information systems organization was established along with a standardized set of infrastructure and business system services. Within two years, Richards reduced the company's global IS operating expenditure by 36%.
