About Sophos PureMessage

Sophos PureMessage combines industry-leading anti-virus and anti-spam technologies with flexible policy management and world-class support. It checks all email traffic passing through the email server in real-time, providing protection against mass-mailing worms and viruses, including the latest multi-faceted attacks that combine virus, spam, DoS (denial-of-service) and phishing attacks. Viruses are stopped at the gateway before they can proliferate within a corporate network. The PureMessage engine intercepts messages at the email gateway and scans for spam, viruses, phishing campaigns and other conditions defined by the overall message filtering policy. It then applies any policy actions to the messages, passing them back to the MTA (mail transfer agent) before delivering to the intended recipient or quarantining for review.

More than 100 million users in 150 countries rely on Sophos’ complete security solutions as the best protection against complex threats and data loss. Simple to deploy, manage, and use, Sophos’ award-winning encryption, endpoint security, web, email, mobile and network security solutions are backed by SophosLabs - a global network of threat intelligence centers. Sophos is headquartered in Oxford, U.K., and is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol “SOPH.” More information is available at
