Anti-virus leader selects veteran marketing executive as
director of North American marketing
Wakefield, MA - Sophos, Inc., one of the world's leaders in
corporate virus protection, today announced the appointment of
Chris Wraight, to the position of director of North American
marketing at Sophos, Inc. Wraight assumed his role on November 12,
2001.
"Marketing is going to play an increasingly significant role as
Sophos continues its aggressive expansion in North America," said
David Hughes, president of Sophos, Inc. "In Chris Wraight we have
found an executive with a demonstrated record of success in
branding, messaging and positioning development, sales support and
product launches. This is exactly the type of expertise Sophos
needs to move to the next level."
Wraight, who has been leading and managing product marketing
teams for almost 20 years, held strategic and product marketing
positions at Lotus Development Corporation from 1988 to 1995. These
included an assignment as director of Notes mobile computing, where
he developed and implemented the mobile strategy for Lotus'
communications products. Wraight has also held senior level
marketing positions in organizations that deliver Internet and
wireless technology and services.
"I was initially attracted to Sophos because, in addition to the
company's well-regarded anti-virus software, Sophos is one voice of
reason in an industry that generally thrives on rumors and
hysteria," said Chris Wraight, director of North American marketing
of Sophos, Inc.
Wraight holds a degree in management and computer science from
Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
