Ari Buchler joined Sophos in 2013 as General Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Development and was promoted to his current role in 2014. He is responsible for the global legal affairs of Sophos, corporate development, OEM sales and partnerships.
Prior to Sophos, Ari was a senior executive at Rocket Software, Inc., a global software development firm, where he served as Vice President and General Counsel from March 2012. Ari directed Rocket Software’s global legal affairs and played a key role in the company’s aggressive M&A strategy.
Before his time at Rocket Software, Ari spent 18 months advising emerging companies in the healthcare technology and IT industries.
Ari also served as Senior Vice President, Legal and Regulatory Services at Phase Forward Inc. At Phase Forward, he was a member of the senior executive team from 1999 until the company’s sale to Oracle in 2010. Ari helped build Phase Forward from a venture-backed start-up to a publicly traded, global industry leader with over $200 million in revenue and more than 900 employees in 8 countries. He played a leadership role in Phase Forward’s venture and strategic financings, IPO and secondary offering, M&A strategy and execution, and its sale to Oracle.
Earlier in his career, Ari served as in-house counsel at Reed Business Information and as a corporate associate at the law firm of Skadden Arps.
Ari has a law degree from Columbia University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science and a special honors curriculum from Hunter College of the City University of New York.
Ari serves as a board member and advisor to emerging technology companies.
