The purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership with the elements of the administrative responsibilities to a team of the Software Development Engineers in Test to deliver complex software products and networking components as part of the R&D activities associated with our next-generation, high-performance family of IPS and Firewall products.


Main Duties

  • Designing, automating & executing tests based on high level requirements and descriptions
  • Analyze and code complex test automation modules utilizing test automation frameworks in CD/CI environment, define data structures, and specify test and automation tools
  • Fully competent in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a test environment, including necessary equipment, configuration, and software.
  • Thorough knowledge of Java, ability to write/code test automation using Java and Java based product SDK.
  • Proficiency in Perl (other scripting languages are a plus)
  • Strong Linux or Unix Systems experience
  • Knowledge of networking & protocols, firewalls, switching and routing
  • Knowledge/experience with the perimeter security devices (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN) is a big plus
  • Knowledge of web applications testing is desirable (JavaScript, AngularJS, JSON, RESTful web services etc)
  • Security domain/security testing knowledge a big plus

Experience and Skills

The primary responsibilities include enabling and supporting agile SDLC for the large, geographically distributed Engineering team with focus on Continuous Delivery/Continuous System Integration, automation/orchestration of the engineering processes; test automation framework utilization, design, automation and execution of the test/use cases and scenarios. The person in this position will be also providing a technical leadership and actively participating in build-up/hiring of the Software QE/SDET team:

  • Knowledge and wide application of engineering and quality assurance principles, theories, and concepts, and working knowledge of other related fields.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership and experience in championing of software process improvement initiatives, test methodologies, re-evaluating and assessing existing processes
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions, under only limited direction.
  • Accountable for delivery of subsystem, anticipate issues and addresses proactively.
  • Contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Represents the organization on project teams and performs technical project leadership roles; work with cross-functional teams
  • Sphere of influence is likely to extend outside of work group or department.
  • Fosters teamwork and collaboration within and across work groups.
