W32/Rbot-ANC is a Worm and IRC backdoor Trojan for the Windows platform.

W32/Rbot-ANC runs continuously in the background, providing a backdoor server which allows a remote intruder to gain access and control over the computer via IRC channels.

W32/Rbot-ANC exploits the following Microsoft Windows vulnerabilities:

When first run W32/Rbot-ANC copies itself to <System>\shellexec.exe.

W32/Rbot-ANC creates several processes, all with the name "shellexec.exe".

The following registry entries are created to run shellexec.exe on startup:
