W32/Hakag-A is a worm for the Windows platform.

W32/Hakag-A spreads to other network computers.

W32/Hakag-A includes functionality to access the internet and communicate with a remote server via HTTP.

When first run W32/Hakag-A copies itself to:

<Windows>\hinhem.scr
<Windows>\scvhsot.exe
<System>\blastclnnn.exe
<System>\scvhsot.exe

and creates the following files:

<System>\autorun.ini
<System>\setting.ini

The following registry entry is created to run scvhsot.exe on startup:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Yahoo Messengger
<System>\SCVHSOT.exe

The following registry entry is changed to run scvhsot.exe on startup:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Shell
Explorer.exe SCVHSOT.exe
