The worm searches for email addresses in files with the following extensions:
ADB, ASP, CFG, CGI, DBX, DHTM, EML, HTM, HTML, JSP, MBX, MDX, MHT, MMF, MSG, NCH, ODS, OFT, PHP, SHT, SHTM, STM, TBB, TXT, UIN, WAB, WSH, XLS, XML

W32/Bagle-BW runs continuously in the background, providing a backdoor server which allows a remote intruder to gain access and control over the computer.

W32/Bagle-BW includes functionality to download, install and run new software.

When first run W32/Bagle-BW copies itself to winhost.exe in the Windows system folder.

The following registry entry is created to run winhost.exe on startup:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
winhost.exe
<Windows system folder>\winhost.exe

Registry entries are created under:

HKCU\Software\Timeout\
