More Information
Mal/Clagger-A is a family of Trojans for the Windows platform.
Mal/Clagger-A includes functionality to download and execute code from the internet. It is likely to be received in email having been aggressively spammed out to potential victims. A number of Mal/Clagger-A variants masquerade as fake billing information documents in the spammed out messages.
Exact behaviour will vary between variants, but Mal/Clagger-A Trojans typically perform the following actions:
- connect to a remote server and download additional code
- make changes to the system Registry in order to bypass the Windows firewall
- terminate processes for several security products
