Solution

MS09-054

Vendor descriptionThis security update resolves three privately reported vulnerabilities and one publicly disclosed vulnerability in Internet Explorer. The vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page using Internet Explorer.
SophosLabs commentsInternet Explorer is always a common target for attackers so it is important to ensure that it is kept up to date with all available security patches. Of the four vulnerabilities resolved as part of this latest update one (CVE-2009-2529) has been publically disclosed and is therefore of greatest interest, however exploitation requires that a user visits a malicious or compromised Web page so due diligence is advised whilst web browsing.
