'The list is empty' message during installation of Enterprise Console

Issue
While installing Enterprise Console, you would like to add a new user account. When you attempt to browse to an User Group, the following error message appears:

The list is empty.

Known to apply to the following Sophos products and versions:
Enterprise Console, version 4

What to do

This is a problem with the InstallShield program used by the Enterprise Console setup program. To continue with the installation, you could either:

  • type the name of the group directly into the dialog and continue with the installation
  • close the dialog and start the installation program again. If the problem persists, restart the server on which you're installing Enterprise Console.
