How to change your default warehouse, working directory and default update location before or after installing Endpoint Security and Control 9
If possible, we recommend that you change your default warehouse, working directory and update locations before using the Download Security Software wizard. If that's not possible, we've also included instructions for doing it after installation is complete.

Update Location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sophos\Update Manager\CIDs
- Windows 2008:
1 The path shown is when you have performed a fresh install of Enterprise Console v5. If you have upgraded from a previous version of Enterprise Console use the path for Enterprise Console v4.x
NOTE:
The original working directory may exceed the 256 character path limit in Windows. This will result in an error while attempting to delete the original working directory referring to a locked or missing file.
Workaround
To delete the old working directory:
- Open that directory and, delete what you can.
- The sub-directories you can’t delete you can rename to a shorter name. (The sub directories are 32 character GUID’s and many have sub directories with the same structure.)
- You can now delete these sub-directories and then delete the old working directory.
