Solution

As of yet, no patch has been released for this vulnerability. Please refer to the Microsoft advisory (see the references section) for a workaround which will disable Microsoft Office Web Components.

Vendor description Microsoft is investigating a privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft Office Web Components. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the local user. When using Internet Explorer, code execution is remote and may not require any user intervention.
SophosLabs comments Sophos has received a several samples of exploits attempting to exploit this vulnerability, some of the parts of exploit kits mostly published to a set of domains hosted in China. Given the popularity of the software affected, the severity, and the lack of a patch, SophosLabs has assigned this vulnerability a rating of Critical.
