Sophos Control Center: cannot find CID Share

Issue:

Sophos Control Center will not update, and reports the error:

What to do

On the computer on which Sophos Control Center is installed

1. Before you start, read the warning about editing the Windows registry.
2. Open the registry and navigate to:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/SOPHOS/SBE/
3. Click on the key 'Management tools' and check in the right-hand pane to see if it contains an entry with the name CIDShare.
4. If this entry is missing do the following.
   1. In the right-hand pane, right-click and select 'New|String Value'.
   2. Call the new entry CIDShare. Right-click on this, select 'Modify' and in the 'Value data' field type \\computername\Sophos where computername is the name of this computer where Sophos Control Center is installed.
   3. Right-click again and select 'New|String Value'. Call the new entry SophosDatabank.  Right-click on this, select 'Modify' and in the 'Value data' field type http://sbe-latest-2.sophos.com/update
