Sophos NAC for Endpoint Security and Control: computers are not receiving NAC policy
Issue
A red cross is displayed on the NAC icon in the system tray. When you double-click on it, you see a message saying that it 'failed to fetch policy'.

What to do
In order to take advantage of the new Sophos NAC functionality in Sophos Endpoint Security and Control 8, the Application Server part of the NAC server software must NOT be installed on the same server as Microsoft SharePoint.
Technical information
Microsoft SharePoint sets the site that is running on port 80 to require authentication. Because the Endpoint NAC Agents cannot authenticate with SharePoint, they cannot communicate with the NAC server interface.
