Sophos provides two utilities for automating the downloading of Sophos software and IDE files:
- EM Library automatically downloads and distributes both Sophos applications and IDE files over computer networks
- Sophos AutoUpdate keeps Sophos
Anti-Virus up to date on an end-user's computer via a website or network connection provided by their employer
EM Library is a powerful set of tools allowing fully automated web-based installation and updating of Sophos software across a network.
Sophos AutoUpdate keeps remote and laptop Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP users updated.
Note: Sophos strongly recommends companies use EM Library to download automatically the latest IDEs and ensure computers within their organisation are protected against the latest viruses.
- Please refer to the Endpoint Security and Control product page for more details.
Command line downloading utilities such as GNU Wget can be used on individual Windows and other computers to download IDE files in a similar manner.
