Sophos NAC: Sophos NAC requires Internet access to update application information. Proxies are supported, but authenticated proxies are not supported.
If you are using a proxy server for Internet access, you must run the NAC Proxy Setup tool after you install Sophos NAC. This tool configures Sophos NAC to use a proxy server to retrieve the latest dates for the current signature for anti-virus and anti-spyware applications.
If you are using an authenticated proxy server for Internet access, you do not need to run the NAC Proxy Setup tool. You need to create an exception on your Proxy server for one of the following, depending on how your Authenticated Proxy works:
- the "SophosNAC" account
- the URL that the NAC server is connected to
- the IP address or hostname of the NAC server
If you are using the WS1000 as your authenticated proxy server, use the WS1000 manual for instructions on creating an exception to pass through the server.
