This article describes the following error that occurs during the NAC server installation. "Unable to save changes made to COM+ Application, Sophos NAC AuthGateway Server". Please correct the system issue and re-install." This article also provides a workaround.
What to do
If the error "Unable to save changes made to COM+ Application, Sophos NAC AuthGateway Server" occurs during the NAC server installation, the default Access Control List permissions on the %windir%\registration directory may be experiencing problems after you install the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-051. For more information see, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909444. The NAC server requires Windows Server 2003. If you are installing the NAC server on Windows Server 2003 and it is not running as a domain controller, use the following commands to set the correct directory permissions:
echo y| cacls %windir%\registration /G everyone:R system:F administrators:F
echo y| cacls %windir%\registration\*.clb /G everyone:R system:F administrators:F
