Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+: device control, re-enabling an optical device after a system restore
Issue
When you use Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+, with device control, to block an optical storage device, and then, following a system restore, you want to re-enable it, you cannot do so by re-applying a policy.
What to do
- Open Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Computer Management.
- Select Device Manager.
- Right-click the device, and select 'Enable' from the drop-down.
