Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+: device control, remote desktop does not receive desktop message
Issue
When you are running Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+, with device control, on a remote desktop, you do not receive a desktop message notifying you that a device has been plugged in.
This is a known issue which is only seen when you have the following set-up:
- a Windows 2003 server running Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+, with device control
- you are running a remote desktop on a Windows XP, SP2 computer.
There is no workaround.
NOTE: this only applies to the above scenario. If Sophos Anti-Virus detects malware, you will be notified on your remote desktop as usual.
