PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange: Blackberry users receive duplicate email messages

Issue
Blackberry users receive duplicate copies of incoming emails. These may be exact copies, or they may have a winmail.dat attachment.

This issue may also be seen on other non-Microsoft email clients.

Sophos product and version
PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange, version 3

Operating system
Any Windows server.

What to do

  1. In the PureMessage console,  go to Transport Scanning|Anti-Spam|'Configure E-mail Subject tagging...'
  2. Disable all subject tagging.
  3. Send a test email. The Blackberry user should receive just one copy.
