Enterprise Console: error 0000006d - alert does not clear following reboot

Issue:
Enterprise Console is displaying an alert requesting a reboot. Error 0000006d.

Following reboots, the alert still does not clear.

Sophos product and version
Enterprise Console 3.0 and above

Operating system 
Windows 2003

What to do

  1. Go to the computer identified in the alert. You will need to create a registry key. Ensure that you have read the warning about editing the registry, and that you feel confident to do so.
  2. Create a registry key:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sophos\AutoUpdate\UpdateStatus\RebootRequired (DWORD) value 1.
  3. Update the computer. (Note, this should send a reboot message to the server.)
  4. Change the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sophos\AutoUpdate\UpdateStatus\RebootRequired to a 0.
  5. Update the computer again.
