Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+: configuring Internet Explorer settings to allow Sophos web content scanning

Issue
If you have Internet Explorer 'Enhanced Security Configuration' components on your system, you must ensure that the Internet Explorer Advanced settings are correctly set to allow the Sophos web content scanner to run.

What to do

  1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools|Advanced and check (tick) 'Enable third-party browser extensions'.
  2. Click Apply|OK.

NOTE: If you have not enabled third-party browser extensions in Internet Explorer, the Sophos web content scanner will not function, even if you have enabled it in Internet Explorer in Tools|Manage Add-ons.
