PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange: during installation prompts for a reboot but then doesn't continue
Issue
The PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange, version 3, installation runs briefly, then prompts for a reboot. Once the computer is rebooted nothing happens. When you re-run the installer this behaviour is repeated.

What to do
Try each of the following in the order given here.
1. Run the installation from a local computer
The PureMessage installation must not be run from a network share or a mapped drive. If the installation fails from a local computer, work through the next section.
2. Edit the registry
Before you make any changes to the registry, ensure that you read the warning about editing the registry and make a backup.
- Browse to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- Backup the key (right-click Run and select Export).
- Delete the string on the right-hand side the name of which is:
StartPMEx30Installer. - Run the PureMessage installation again.
If this fails work through the next section.
3. Run a direct command
From the command line, run the command
C:\pmex_30\PM\AfterRestart\PMAfterRestart.exe c:\pmex_30\ /z"AfterReboot" /L1033
3. Run a direct command (64 bit)
If running the command for a 64 bit installation run this command :
C:\pmex70_30\PM\AfterRestart\PMAfterRestart.exe c:\pmex70_30\ /z"AfterReboot" /L1033
Note : Run commands with spaces shown using parameter /L1033 (as shown above) for English, and /L1041 for Japanese.
