Sophos product and version
PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange 3.0.
Operating system
Windows 2003 Server R2 SP1
What to do
- Run the installation a second time, and select/create the user 'Sophos PureMessage Administrators' for access to the console.
- If installation fails again, create the above account locally and/or in the Active Directory. (Note, it should be a member of the 'Distributed COM Users' built-in group.)
The installation should now complete and you should be able to access the PureMessage console.
Technical Information
This occurs when Sophos PureMessage Administrators does not exist on the local computer (or Active Directory). This seems to occur on non-DC machines.
