Error Details: COM error-code 0x80004005: Unspecified Error
Sophos product and version
PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange, version 3.0
Operating system
Windows 2000/2003
What to do
Click OK to the message. The installation will continue. Once installation has completed, you must then add exclusions manually as follows.
Adding exclusions manually
- Open the Enterprise Console.
- In the Policies pane, right-click the Anti-Virus policy that applies to the PureMessage server and select View/Edit policy,
- Click the 'On-access' button then select 'Windows Exclusions'.
- In the 'On-access scans settings' dialog box, you must add the following to the list of Windows exclusions:
- C:\Program Files\SOPHOS\PureMessage\Temp\
- the exclusions required by the version of Microsoft Exchange server that you are using. These are described in the knowledgebase article on file exclusions for Microsoft Exchange server.
Note: You must to include the "\" at the end of the exclusion.
Repeat the above for the on-demand scan. To do this, go to the Sophos Anti-Virus window, select Configure|On-demand extensions and exclusions. Manually add the same exclusions as above.
