Enterprise Console: Error 1606. Could not access network location Logs

Issue

When you install or open Enterprise Console version 3, the following error message is displayed on-screen:

What to do

  1. Copy the contents of C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sophos\Remote Management System\3\ and paste them to C:\Program Files\Sophos\Remote Managements System\
  2. Close the error window (choose to 'Cancel' the install) and re-run the installer for the upgrade.


Technical Information

This error occurs because the installer is trying to access a folder on the local drive that does not exist. This can occur for upgrades that started out as Enterprise Console 1.0, because the Remote Management System directory resides at C:\Program Files\Sophos\Remote Management System instead of the Enterprise Console 2.0 location of C:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console\Remote Management System.
